Sung Back Home by the Liminal

The rain falls

The gap widens

The world opens

The mirror darkens

- to Trickster smile

Black starry fire-eyes

Holding and being and freeing

Now part-way home, tasting a new landscape

The white sands on a pilgrim's land

Shifting with tectonic plates

Tide and Time

Ancestors pulling their boats ashore

Tired, deep bone-tired

Bracing northern waters -

Breathe me back into flesh

As they walk weary on to new shores

- What do they have for me?

As she rides bolt-upright on wild horse

arms out-stretched in joy

As the first pilgrims from afar

Make Their Mark

Now I await more dreams

The deep sleep I avoid and crave

The night-time creatures that live there -

Teeth and tusk

Bone and claw

Beak-smile

The tide closing in,

The rainfall, singing me deeper...
